GT wins Agency Of The Year

07/03/08

At the prestigious Revolution Awards 2008 held in The Ballroom at London's Grosvenor House on 7 March 2008, GT was hailed as Agency Of The Year 2008.

With a further three other finalist nominations that evening for Audi and Christian Aid, GT was looking to continue the already impressive run of 16 awards in less than 10 months; including five finalists at Campaign Digital, four winners at the BIMAs, Best Website at the IMAs and two Site Of The Day accolades from the FWA.

Nominations for Revolution's Agency Of The Year were: Dare, iLevel, iCrossing, BigMouthMedia, Agency.com and Graphico. Each of these agencies had performed better in 2007 than ever before, whether by achieving multi-million pound buy-outs or exceptional organic growth.

The judges, however, regarded GT as the clear and outstanding winner. Over the previous 12 months GT has seen its agency, clients, revenue and awards sky rocket. It succeeded in nearly doubling revenue from £5m to over £9.5m within the year, staff numbers rose from 57 to 112, converted a staggering nine out of ten pitches and moved their entire operation out of ageing premises in Great Titchfield Street into a purpose-built, architect designed space in Clerkenwell.

Significant hires also accompanied their extraordinary year. Notably, Tom Barker joined the Board from Xbox, where he held the position of UK Advertising and Global partnerships manager. Adrian Nicholls completed the Board line-up by joining from Glue, where he was New Business Director and Group Account Director. Nicholls now leads GT's flagship Audi account. They also announced their strategic partnership with Janet Grimes and Julian Saunders from The Joined Up Company who joined as Non Executive Planning Directors.

To complete the year GT won the coveted seat of Agency of Record for the BBC, beating Glue, 20:20, Start and Play.

GT believes its success is down to the passion and talent of its people. GT wants a world with less advertising but better experiences: rich and rewarding experiences for everybody. They do it by 'thinking human'.
